For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power. [1 Corinthians 4.20]
You know, there is a LOT of talk about God's Kingdom.
In fact, there is way more talk about the Kingdom than there is demonstration of its power.
Wow, did I just say that? Yes, and it is universally true. It is a fact we should slap ourselves in the face with on a daily basis.
What's the big deal?
Just because miracles follow a person does not mean they are God's chosen. This we know:
Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ [Matthew 7.21-23]
If a person who performs great miracles and demonstrates the power of God should not feel secure in his salvation, should not the person who does not demonstrate the power of God have even greater reason for concern? Let's think this through!!!
Father, help us to understand that Your power is not optional in our representation of You.
