- Giving up my way:
- Faith in idols for life and sustenance
- Unforgiveness that inflicts every curse
- Selfishness that excuses pride, greed, and lust
- Unbelief that manifests in religion and fear
- Taking up my cross:
- Faith only in You for life and sustenance
- Forgiveness that breaks every curse
- Selflessness that gives priority to others
- Faith that is fearless and pleases You
- Following Jesus
- Wherever He takes me
If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. [Matthew 16.24 (also, Mark 8.34 & Luke 9.23)]
