How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. [Psalm 19.12]
Once we get to this point in our lives, we truly get to humility.
The Bible is clear that the human heart cannot be trusted. Here and elsewhere in the scriptures we find more than sufficient reason to never trust our hearts.
The reason for this is that truth does not come from "the heart" but instead only from God's Word.
Never trust your heart. It lies.
Father, forgive me for trusting my heart.
