But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. [Psalm 56.3]
I learned this verse in Vacation Bible School one summer when I was a boy at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw Oklahoma. I have quoted it off and on for many years now.
What Psalm 56.3 meant to me as a boy has not changed one bit from what it means to me now.
What I did not fully understand as a boy however, is who's good company I am in when I rehearse and believe what Psalm 56.3 says. I am joining with words of faith of the great King David - the man in the Bible declared to be a man after God's own heart!
Oh that God's people would trust in Him alone!
Father in heaven, I am reminded today that my faith in You is not misplaced. I am reminded that trusting in You is good and it is right. I am reminded that faith and trust in You is simple and pure.
