Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off. [Romans 11.22]
It is no fault that God is both kind and severe.
The fault falls upon man who, when he suffers punishment or the curse, proudly accuses God of wrongdoing.
Where does man get off saying God cannot be both kind and severe anyway?
God is indeed good. But His goodness does not prevent Him from being just. In fact, genuine goodness is incomplete without justice!
This is something every individual must understand.
To know God is love and fail to know He is just is to not really know Him at all.
Father, help me to recognize You more fully with my life.
