The Spirit lifted me up and took me away. I went in bitterness and turmoil, but the LORD’s hold on me was strong. [Ezekiel 3.14]
Ezekiel's course was not easy. In fact, he went in bitterness and turmoil.
BUT! Ezekiel acknowledged that the LORD's hold was on him... and it was strong!
The Church today appears to have a bitter and tumultuous future. I wish I could foresee another outcome, but I personally do not. But if, like Ezekiel, we recognize the LORD's hand upon us strongly, what do we have to fear?
It makes perfect sense to me that we, the Church, prepare ourselves. The preparation I am talking about is repentance. The Church needs a humble and contrite spirit more than ever. There is simply no way to face the impending hard times in pride and arrogance.
Father, help Your Church be ready for the days ahead.
