The LORD made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding he stretched out the heavens. When he speaks in the thunder, the heavens roar with rain. He causes the clouds to rise over the earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses. [Jeremiah 51.15-16]
It has been raining here several days. There has been lightning, thunder, wind, and rain.
It is all God's doing. God speaks in the weather.
Or, is it all just natural weather patterns?
Our education and knowledge betray us. Like our deceitful and desperately wicked hearts, our knowledge tricks us into thinking that everything has a 'natural' (read God-less) explanation.
And all the while people beg God to speak to them. "If only God would speak to me..."
Perhaps we should pay attention to the Bible and listen for God's voice in the lightning, thunder, wind, and rain!
Father, forgive me for being so smart - or at least thinking I am so smart. Forgive me for elevating myself above the ability to hear Your voice in the lightning, thunder, wind, and rain. Forgive me for being so proud and God-less in my estimation of the world around me.
