Details Matter

Why are all the details of Solomon's palace and the Temple important enough to be included in the Bible?

Anyone who knows me knows I am no scholar. However, it occurred to me today that perhaps the reason God included these details in the Bible is because He is interested in these details in our lives.

Lately, it has become more clear to me that God wants our full devotion and trust. The one thing that pleases God above and beyond all other things is trust - faith. With this in mind, it would seem God has provided "details" that prove to us that He is committed to us - committed to the details that affect our lives. By His provision of details in the Bible, we can conclude that details matter to Him just like the details of our lives matter to Him... so that we might rest in faith in Him!

It all comes down to faith. And, whatever is not of faith, on our part, is sin. It is hard heartedness.

Father, thank You for the details of the Bible that clearly indicate to me that You are concerned with the details of my life! I don't want to be hard-hearted toward You, but believing in every possible way.
