Kingdom Realization

Then the angel who had been talking with me returned and woke me, as though I had been asleep. [Zechariah 4.1]

This phrase stood out to me today. It spoke to something in me that realizes that we can be awake but still need to be awakened! It spoke to me that we can experience progressive levels of being awake.

I realized as I read this phrase today that most all of us are aware of being awake, but then experiencing an awakening within our being awake. It is like having our eyes open all along, but then all of sudden "seeing" something that was in front of our eyes the whole time.

This is what we all need every day in our relationship with God. I believe this is what God intends to do every day for us! I think it is best called, Kingdom Realization. I believe it is what Jesus had every intention for his followers to "get" and for us to "get" as the result.

Father, help me - help us all - to "get it." Help our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and our hearts to understand what You are saying to Your Church today.
