God's Word Is No Joke

But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.” [Daniel 12.4]

I make no claims of being a prophet. I make no claims to be any kind of special person. I am a child of God however - I have His Holy Spirit speaking to me and causing my mind to understand what previously, as an un-regenerated person, was incomprehensible to me. That said...

It seems lately almost everywhere I go I notice more and more people "going" also. It seems that we are a very mobile society. It seems very few "stay put" anywhere for very long these days. I often ask myself, "Where are all these people going?"

Likewise, it is no secret that knowledge is at an all-time high. We, as humans, have a vast amount of information available to us. It's not just that the information is available, but that it is readily available - the internet, smart phones and devices have made knowledge as close as our fingertips or the command of our voice.

My observation today is this: if I knew nothing more of Daniel's prophecies, but could only confirm  in my present day and time that people "rush here and there" and that knowledge is definitely at an "increase," it gives me great sensitivity to what Daniel wrote so many years ago.

God's Word is no joke. God's Word contains Truth - much of which we are incapable of grasping simply because of our un-regenerated hearts and minds.

We need to understand God's Word. We need first, however, to repent.

Father, forgive me for ever being content not to understand the Bible. I see today how carnal and faithless that attitude is. In what is surely "the last days" help me to be a conduit of Your Truth and peace and salvation.
