Never sacrifice sick or defective cattle, sheep, or goats to the Lord your God, for he detests such gifts. [Deuteronomy 17.1]
How does God feel about sickness and defects?
He detests them.
Think - If God detests sickness and defects, would He have those things in heaven? The answer is clearly "no."
Think - If we are instructed to pray for God's will on earth "as it is in heaven," should we ever pray for anything other than health or strength when faced with sickness and defects? Again the answer is "no."
We sing and speak of the blessings of heaven with great longing and anticipation. But when faced with sickness and disease, we have little or no confidence in how to pray in those situations.
It is time we pray right.
Father, help me - help us - to pray right, like Jesus taught us.
