Shut Up and Listen

Then Job replied to the Lord, “I am nothing—how could I ever find the answers? I will cover my mouth with my hand. I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say.” [Job 40.3-5]

The rebuke has come!

Job's preconceived notion of what he would do in God's presence was not just a little different than he thought it would be! Instead of arguing his case with God, all Job could do was shut up and listen.

Word of wisdom: if we are to overcome pride and selfishness in our own lives, we, like Job, need to shut up and listen.

Father, there seems to be no need for many words today. I think I have had the point made quite clearly to me!
