Sins of Pride

If they are bound in chains and caught up in a web of trouble, he shows them the reason. He shows them their sins of pride. [Job 36.8-9]

Even though Elihu is young, he seems to possess a lot of wisdom about God.

Here in the 36th chapter of Job's story, Elihu reveals some very important information about God and people. He says that God reveals why people are "bound in chains and caught up in a web of trouble..."

Drum roll...

"He shows them their sins of pride."

According to Elihu, the reason for our bondage and trouble is pride.

I will just say here, that this proves nothing but true in my own life.

Father, please continue to help me see my own pride and selfishness in order to deal with it. Or, better yet, help me to recognize my pride and selfishness and allow You to deal with it through Your Holy Spirit and Your Word and prayer.
