Plow In The Right Season (Pray)

Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest. [Proverbs 20.4]

I know I have commented on this scripture before, but today, in light of the last two days' posts, a different light it shining upon it in my mind.

To "plow in the right season" should be considered first and foremost as our prayer. Our prayer, if done in accordance with Jesus' instruction (Matthew 6), will have us fulfilling our roles as ambassadors of Christ and God in praying for God's will on earth to be accomplished according to the pattern seen in heaven.

By the way, the analogy "plow in the right season" is so appropriate for prayer because while not every seed will come up, it is no reason not to plant faithfully! The increase is up to God, but it is certain there will be no harvest if we do not plant at all!
