Consider Truthfulness

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. [Proverbs 12.22]

I wonder how much of the trouble that we face today is because of our own lies?

This is a touch question to ask, but if we really ask ourselves about the truthfulness of our words, will we find that we consistently tell the truth?

For God's people to live so obviously powerless in the world, is there not something wrong? Should we not be concerned that we do not see more manifestation of God's power in these times?

If God genuinely delights in those who tell the truth, should not that delight manifest in tangible ways as it did all through the pages of the Bible?

It is significant that Jesus declared Himself to be Truth. It is significant that Jesus always spoke pure truth. It is significant that Solomon focused so much on the importance of truthfulness.

Should we not at least consider our own truthfulness if we see a problem in our lives?

Father, help me to give the same attention to truthfulness in my life that You give to it!
