“Present the case for your idols,” says the Lord. “Let them show what they can do,” says the King of Israel. “Let them try to tell us what happened long ago so that we may consider the evidence. Or let them tell us what the future holds, so we can know what’s going to happen. Yes, tell us what will occur in the days ahead. Then we will know you are gods. In fact, do anything—good or bad! Do something that will amaze and frighten us. But no! You are less than nothing and can do nothing at all. Those who choose you pollute themselves. [Isaiah 41.21-24]
You know, even if a person chooses not to believe in God and the Bible, he or she still has to deal with the history and prophecy of the Bible! No other source gives an account for life as we know it from its inception to its end. Nothing explains time and space as logically as the Bible. Sure, there are scientific theories that at first seem to explain life, but they lose all confidence when it comes to defining with any detail the events that resulted in the Creation. In fact, these theories require a lot of gullibility involving impossible odds of chance.
Admittedly, the Bible does not give every detail of Creation and life as we know it, but, it gives a general understanding far more credible than any random "big bang." What's more, the Bible gives insight into the future as well as the past. While science can explain what might happen based on previous happenings, there is no way it can predict events of social, political and spiritual significance (like the coming of Messiah or end times events). And yet, God, through the Bible has done just that! He told us what happened and will happen.
Father, I am glad to associate with You and the Bible! Thank You for demonstrating Your supremacy over all the universe and recording it (and even predicting it) in the pages of the Bible!
