More Than A Scam (Much More!)

As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened.  A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe.  They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’  If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.”  So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say.  Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today. [Matthew 28.11-15]

You know, the guards' story makes perfect sense.  It certainly makes much more sense than the disciples' and women's version of what happened!

The problem however is that everything happened as was prophesied years before.

Now, one might argue, the followers of Jesus were well-versed enough in the prophecies and therefore simply acted out and facilitated the prophecies as if they were instructions to be followed.  This also makes perfect sense!

However!  If the argument above makes perfect sense, then why did the guards, as if following the same set of prophecy instructions, cast lots for Jesus' garments?  Were they in on the scam too?

Yeah, there's more than just a scam going on!  One can bet, it was indeed a Masterful plan!

Father, Your plan was executed beautifully.  I know that people still will not believe however.  Let that be my goal - my job - to reveal truth and even argue for reason that is not one-sided!
