Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. [Luke 24.25-27]
If any one of us becomes the most educated Bible scholar ever to walk the planet, and we fail to see Jesus as the whole focal point of the Bible and God's Story, then we have missed the point.
Jesus seemed to be implying that all the Scriptures were about Himself. Does one dare refute this?
What would be the point, if God's Story was not, in a word, Jesus?
Father, please help us all to not lose sight of Jesus! The Bible is so full of information that is so easy to get lost in (particularly in the spiritual sense!), but help us stay focused on Jesus. Help us seek Your Kingdom as found in Jesus. Help us glorify Your Name through Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Give is eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand... Jesus.
