“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” [Luke 12.21]
Truer words have never been spoken. And yet, we labor vigorously to build wealth while giving only secondary attention to God.
The problem here is not so much a few single events of hard work at building wealth. The problem is a life-pattern of spending more life resources on building wealth than on building relationship with the Father.
This problem is further worsened by a society that has totally embraced building wealth over building relationship with God. Christians are, for the most part, indistinguishable in this fallacy.
Worse yet, entire cultures have developed around building wealth with God no longer even mentioned - let alone made even a priority.
Father, we have so gotten our priorities all wrong. Help our societies give You the priority You demand.
