“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life. [John 5.39-40]
So, the Bible is not the answer.
Jesus is the answer.
The Bible tells about Jesus.
If a person learns everything about the Bible and fails to see Jesus as the theme throughout, then that person has missed the point. That person, educated and in-the-know as he or she may be, has missed eternal life.
I don't want to be that person!
Father, I am reminded once again that I need to search for Jesus in the Bible. In every story, in every account, in every lesson, I need to look for and recognize Jesus. Help me.
