“A time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will punish all those who are circumcised in body but not in spirit—” [Jeremiah 9.25]
So it appears even in Jeremiah's time that people went through the motion of devotion to God without truly being devoted to God.
It concerns me today how many people across this nation in which I live 'go to church' and are no more 'Christian' than the rest of the population.
Here is the challenge: if we didn't know a particular person attended a particular church regularly or irregularly, would we have any indication otherwise of a relationship with God in his or her life?
The motion of devotion is useless without a heart of devotion.
Father, I want my life to scream with evidence that You are truly the center of my life and devotion!
