Kingdoms Rise And Kingdoms Fall

Babylon, Assyria, Philistia, and Moab are the object of Isaiah's discussion in today's OYCB reading.  Each of these entity's demise is predicted.

Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall.

Each of these kingdoms was at once powerful as the world goes.  Each was strong.  Each even served a purpose for God.  But as powerful and prestigious as they were, they were destroyed.  They refused to serve and worship the LORD.

It would seem consistent to me that a nation as powerful as the contemporary United States - once known as a Godly nation, but now largely diluted in its worship of God alone - should be on high alert against the wrath of God.  How could the USA escape a similar fate to the kingdoms listed in today's reading?

Father, I know You are consistent.  That worries me for the sake of the USA.
