What a fiasco! Saul was apparently not very sensitive to the ways of God. It seems like everything he did was wrong! The story of Jonathan's great victory spoiled by Saul's rash curse against his troops if they ate food is the epitome of operating without all the facts. Everything about it is pretty much in disarray.
Perhaps that is the story here for us to learn... that when we operate outside obedience to the Spirit of God, all kinds of confusion and chaos will follow. Maybe?
Father, I am not absolutely sure what to glean from Saul's story, but I know that obedience to Your Holy Spirit could not be far from the planned lesson here!
