The Benjamites at Gibeah were certainly a nasty bunch of people. Homosexuality was just as brutal then as it is now. It was as if they raped the Israelite's concubine to death just to spite him for not coming out for sex himself.
But why did the Israelite push his chosen concubine out the door? This part of the story is as pathetic as the homosexuality.
Father, the event documented in today's OYCB reading is pretty much disgusting in every way. I find it very difficult to imagine a similar situation today.
