He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. [Luke 22.44]
Fervent prayer is something most know nothing of. But Jesus did. And, thank God He did.
How might the lives of those around us be changed if we would learn the work of fervent prayer? Yes, that is the right question, isn't it? For prayer, in its purest form, is about others - because that is the heart of the Father!
There is nothing wrong with agonizing in prayer. In fact, it is one more facet in which we might look like Jesus with our own lives.
Regardless what we may think, Jesus was very clear about the difficulties believers will face near the end of time as we know it. Perhaps it is high time that we look soberly at the time in which we live and embrace fervency in our prayer - not for us though, but for the lost world.
Father, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May I be found in line (in life and prayer) with Your will that every man be saved and understand the truth!
