Then Joshua said to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, the descendants of Joseph, “Since you are so large and strong, you will be given more than one portion. The forests of the hill country will be yours as well. Clear as much of the land as you wish, and take possession of its farthest corners. And you will drive out the Canaanites from the valleys, too, even though they are strong and have iron chariots.” [Joshua 17.17-18]
Joshua demonstrated confidence in the LORD God and His promises.
Even though the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh described the difficult situation they faced, Joshua told them they would succeed because Joshua remembered and reminded them of God's promise of victory. Joshua knew God's Word and therefore His will.
It is impossible to enjoy God's promises when fixated on circumstances. Boom.
Father, as simple as the previous sentence is, it is true. Forgive me for allowing circumstances to interfere with my confidence in You and Your promises. May I be found confident like Joshua in Your Word and Your will in the earth today. So be it.
