Cause and Effect

There was a famine during David’s reign that lasted for three years, so David asked the LORD about it. And the LORD said, “The famine has come because Saul and his family are guilty of murdering the Gibeonites.” [2 Samuel 21.1]

Cause and effect. It's just that simple.

When something is obviously wrong., our first course of action should always be to seek the LORD about it. Always.

Here is where knowledge gets us into so much trouble. When we "understand" natural phenomena in purely scientific terms, we miss the spiritual side altogether. We miss God.

In my state (Oklahoma in the USA), just in the last few days, tornadoes caused damage and loss of life. As Oklahomans, we could join together and ask God "Why?" but, sadly, we instead simply regret the loss while accepting the "science" of weather in full disregard of all the Bible teaches about blessings and curses.

Until we make the conscious effort to choose to view life from a Biblical perspective instead of a worldly knowledge perspective, we will be none the wiser.

Father, help us to respond to the events around us as David did...
