In Christ

And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. [Galatians 3.27]

This could be one of the most revelatory statements in the Bible even though it is just a simply constructed, easily understood little sentence. But boy, it packs a punch!

I listened to a sermon last Sunday morning about being "in Christ" and all it means. How many of us actually got it? Did I get it? Frankly, my life, attitude, and actions all say "no."

I think in these crazy fast times in which we live all the forces of evil and darkness intentionally keep us busy to prevent us from fully considering what it means to be "in Christ" and for Christ to be "in us."

Paul said it is as simple as "putting on new clothes."

Father, help us to stop all our busyness in order to consider - to really consider - the newness of of life we have in Christ Jesus. Forgive me for not being more intentional about being in Christ.
