“The day is near when I, the LORD, will judge all godless nations! As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads. [Obadiah 15]
This is not a surprising statement regarding God's affinity for Israel. However, for us today, if we consider that Israel represents the Church (God's people), this statement holds a contemporary meaning as well!
If nothing else can be understood from this passage today, it should always be seen and understood that God looks out for His own. I find great comfort in this.
We just want to be sure we are on the right side of God and, that is only done through faith in Jesus Christ.
Father, I am grateful for Your Word that so consistently reveals Your love and goodness toward those who obey You. I am also grateful that, in this age of grace (as most call it), our genuine obedience is measured as it looks like Jesus and You've given us four different Gospel accounts to show us what He looked like! Thank You!
