Really? Then Why did God say Isaiah 42.8?
Why did God also say early on:
You must not have any other god but me. [Exodus 20.3]
If God is a jealous God...
You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. [Exodus 20.5]
...then should we not be very careful about what we 'throw in the mix' with God by making statements like the one at the opening of this writing?
What scares me is that we are so saturated in idolatry today that we cannot even see it.
God help us!
Father,. help us see our lives and faith the way You see it... And, when we do, may we be found profusely repentant before You...
