Astounded or Astounding?

And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote. Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders. The wisdom of the wise will pass away, and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.” [Isaiah 29.13-14]

When man slips off into "religion," God will "astound" him with amazing wonders.

Religion's lifelessness is at an all time high. I believe the time is now when God will astound the world and religion with amazing wonders.

Will we be astounded or astounding? Will we be those whose lifeless lip-service religion and abstract faith will be totally astounded when God's actual power is manifested in amazing wonders? Or, will we be those who abandon and systematically eradicate dead religion in order to walk in (and even wield) the amazing wonders (power) of God as He says we should?

The days are here when man's intelligence, technology and experience (even as they influence religion) will ultimately fail. Man's idolatrous relationship with these things is already proving to have been a fool's mission. In contrast, those whose trust is in God and His power alone will be justified in their singlehearted faith.

God, in all His goodness, is serious in demanding that our faith and trust be in Him alone! It is for our good.

Father, may I be found proactively trusting You thus demonstrating Your amazing wonders to the world!
