Joash’s officers plotted against him and assassinated him at Beth-millo on the road to Silla. The assassins were Jozacar son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer—both trusted advisers. Joash was buried with his ancestors in the City of David. Then his son Amaziah became the next king. [2 Kings 12.20-21]
Not only did Joash turn away from God after Jehoiada died, but the "trusted advisors" he began to listen to killed him.
Mmm.
Father, help me be strong in You and Your Word so that I can discern the nature of all other voices in my life!
