May the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” [Ruth 2.12]
Wow. Boaz sure spoke a nice blessing over Ruth.
There is something about faith though found in this verse. It speaks of God, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, or in other words, God, in Whom you have trusted.
Hebrews 11 gives us a clear picture of what pleases God:
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. [Hebrews 11.6]
So, we should ask ourselves, "Under whose wings have I come to take refuge?"
If we are not experiencing "full reward" we can conclude that we have not come to take refuge under the LORD's wings! I know, this sounds harsh, but it is true - it is BIBLE true.
Perhaps we would all do well to evaluate under whose wings we have come to take refuge. It's far too easy to "say" we are trusting God, but the results tell the real story...
May the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” [Ruth 2.12]
Father, help us to genuinely trust in You and You alone.
