Justice

“Appoint judges and officials for yourselves from each of your tribes in all the towns the LORD your God is giving you. They must judge the people fairly. You must never twist justice or show partiality. Never accept a bribe, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and corrupt the decisions of the godly. Let true justice prevail, so you may live and occupy the land that the LORD your God is giving you. [Deuteronomy 16.18-20]

Justice means something to God. Why? Because He is Just!

Without a firm basic understanding of justice, there is little hope we can ever understand God's love for the world in sending Jesus Christ.

Sin entered the world through Adam. God hates sin. God will always punish sin - it is non-negotiable - true justice demands it.

The one main thing that perverts justice is money.

Think about that...

Father, help us to better understand Justice so that we might better understand Jesus and the amazing grace demonstrated by His life, death, and resurrection on our behalf.
