Success

In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful. [2 Chronicles 31.21]

Why would following God wholeheartedly result in Hezekiah's success?

Because that is how it is in God's Kingdom!

We have read story after story about God's  people and how they were blessed if they walked with God and cursed if they did not. And with this knowledge we still struggle to understand good and bad as it relates to our own circumstances as followers of God!

What's worse, there are "followers of God" in modern Christianity who hold that "bad things happen to good people."

I completely understand that there are indeed a few things difficult to understand in the Bible. However, to confuse people with ideas that undermine the basic goodness of God and its counterpart is to commit heresy. It is likened to having political figures sworn to furthering the cause of good among the people who, instead, serve only themselves thus harming the people. We are scathing in our description of such "leadership" but then we think nothing of declaring that God would unjustly hurt us, as some Church doctrines proclaim.

It is time we read and understand the Bible!

Father, I am willing to go against any teaching that confuses and confounds Your basic goodness and instead believe Your Word.
