Shield Of Faith

But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. [Psalm 3.3]

As I consider the faith that God gave me (like the faith He has given every man the measure of), I consider how that faith is a direct reflection of God Himself Who gave it.

The Apostle Paul refers to faith as a shield:

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. [Ephesians 6.16]

Paul also refers to faith in wording that indicates faith is to be obeyed:

So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ. [2 Thessalonians 1.11-12]

I find Psalm 3.3 worthy of consideration that God is a shield around me... All of God's faith surrounds me - I am encompassed by it - and His faith directly relates to and communicates with the the faith He placed in me... Oh, I would do well to obey faith!!

Father, may I be found yielded to the promptings of faith today!
