Any Correlation?

When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” “Take him yourselves and crucify him,” Pilate said. “I find him not guilty.” The Jewish leaders replied, “By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God.” When Pilate heard this, he was more frightened than ever. He took Jesus back into the headquarters again and asked him, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave no answer. “Why don’t you talk to me?” Pilate demanded. “Don’t you realize that I have the power to release you or crucify you?” Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.” [John 19.6-11]

The political leader declared Jesus "not guilty." It was the religious leaders who maintained that Jesus was guilty.

It is interesting that, even though Jesus spoke very little during His trial and conviction, most of what He said was to the political leaders and not the religious leaders. This is mostly because the religious leaders made accusations and the political leaders were just trying to gather information.

Here we see that Jesus said to Pilate, the political leader, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.” Jesus clearly stated that the religious leaders carried the greater responsibility for His demise than did the political leaders...

Hmm...

I wonder if there is any correlation of this situation with Jesus to how it will be for us today?

Father, may Your true followers stand "as Christ" in the earth today understanding that to do so will kindle the ire of not only political leaders, but religious leaders as well.
