Undivided Faith and Trust

But they encouraged my people to worship idols, causing Israel to fall into deep sin. So I have taken a solemn oath that they must bear the consequences for their sins, says the Sovereign LORD.  [Ezekiel 44.12]

This was written about the men of the tribe of Levi. God's sentence upon them was severe. Their sin was that they encouraged God's people to worship idols.

I fear that people in ministry positions today who do not clearly distinguish between what is holy (worthy of undivided faith and trust) and what is not are under the same sentence.

If God wants undivided faith and trust from His people, making absolutely no concession for faith and trust in anything or anyone else, then God's ministers in particular should promote such. Someone has to lead out in this undivided faith and trust! But if the leaders do not exercise undivided faith and trust in God and God alone, then how will the people ever do so?

Father, as much as is in me and as much as it is bestowed upon me to lead Your people, may I be found unadulterated in both my practice and my persuasion of undivided faith and trust in You alone.
