Just Being Radical?

“I will scatter you like chaff that is blown away by the desert winds. This is your allotment, the portion I have assigned to you,” says the LORD, “for you have forgotten me, putting your trust in false gods. [Jeremiah 13.24-25]

These are not the words anyone wants to hear. But, are they not indicative of the condition of the Church today? I mean, the Church today is largely faithless and therefore powerless. The Church today has fallen dependent upon false gods, the same idols the world is beholding to: science, technology, medicine, politics, money and more.

Am I just being radical? Only as much as Jeremiah!

Father, may You find us repentant of our idolatry! May You find us broken over our betrayal of You. May You find us remorseful for our failure to glorify You. O God, forgive us!
