Refuge In The LORD

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people. [Psalm 188.8]

I know and acknowledge that some of my recent posts have probably been somewhat alarming. All this talk about trusting God instead of the idols of medicine, technology, science, and money has certainly made me sound like a polarized fanatic. I mean, surely, I must be out of touch with reality, right?

However:

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people. [Psalm 188.8]

I have said it before and I will repeat myself here: I would rather die in faith than live in fear. I don't mind being quoted on this statement - in fact, I wish more of us would have this  mindset - I wish I had more of this mindset!. Besides, if the number of my days is entirely in the hands of the LORD, what good is one bit of fear going to do to lengthen or shorten my days?

Jesus is our absolute best example of this. When facing the worst of the worst in terms of human pain and suffering, Jesus' conversation with Pilate reveals His fearless resolve to do God's will:

“Why don’t you talk to me?” Pilate demanded. “Don’t you realize that I have the power to release you or crucify you?” Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.” [John 19.10-11]

Most of us would have said, "Just let me go then..." Or, in contemporary circumstances, "Just give me the vaccine."

I make no apologies for declaring God's Word here:

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people. [Psalm 188.8]

For the record, and since I brought up the subject of vaccination... I challenge anyone to consider the origin of the vaccine to COVID-19 and tell me it was not the work of people ("people" as in ...better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people).

Father, I want to be found in faith - even if all earthly opinion deems it lunacy. It is better to take refuge in You LORD than to trust in people.
