Help From God

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. You said, ‘No, we will get our help from Egypt. They will give us swift horses for riding into battle.’ But the only swiftness you are going to see is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you! [Isaiah 30.15-16]

We need to think long and hard before seeking help from anyone or anything especially when God has said that particular help comes from Him.

So, what help comes from God - what does God and His Word say about Him?

God said, "I am your righteousness."

God said, "I sanctify you (set you apart)."

God said, "I am your peace."

God said, "I am there."

God said, "I am your healer."

God said, "I am your provider."

God said, "I am your shepherd."

God said, "I am your banner."

God said, "I am your forgiver."

God said, "I am your advocate."

God said, "I am your refuge."

God said, "I am your strength."

God said, "I am your defender."

God said, "I am your protector."

God said, "I am your fortress."

God said, "I am your shield."

The Bible distinctly says all these things about God. What business then do we have seeking any of these promised benefits us from any source other than Him? Any business we would have to that end is a faithless business for sure!

Father, help Your followers to be known by following You alone. May Your Glory be manifest through those who are faithful to You alone.
