Is There No God In Israel?

But the angel of the LORD told Elijah, who was from Tishbe, “Go and confront the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is there no God in Israel? Why are you going to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether the king will recover? [2 Kings 1.3]

Is there no God in Israel? In other words, "Why would you go and seek help from anyone else?"

The real answer is simple, but few are willing to ask it, and certainly fewer are willing to answer it.

Here I will attempt to answer the question, "Is there no God in Israel?" and its clearer version, "Why would you go and seek help from anyone else?" The reason is because they did not trust in the God of Israel so they sought help elsewhere.

I feel certain "Christians" do this same thing almost every day.

Father, help those of us who identify with You to rely on You and You alone.
