Same Spirit - Same Anointing

You give great victories to your king; you show unfailing love to your anointed, to David and all his descendants forever. [Psalm 18.50]

In the context of this verse, David is the anointed one. It also speaks of the descendants of David. David's descendants is a prophetic reference to Jesus and all who are in Him.

Ever wonder why Jesus made such a big deal of demonstrating what walking in the Spirit looks like? Why did He preach the Good News? Why did He heal the sick? Why did He raise the dead? Jesus did all these thing to prove that He was the anointed one (the Anointed One).

Remember Luke 4:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.” [Luke 4.18-19]

I don't mind being repetitive on this topic because the Church simply must get it!

The anointing David made such a big deal about was prophetic about how the anointing should be viewed by us today - it's a big deal. Jesus made a big deal of it even if we fail to see it in David. But it doesn't stop with Jesus...

Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” [John 20.21]

Yes, I am using some of the same scriptures in the New Testament over and over because it is that imperative that we see what Jesus clearly pointed out! 

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. [Romans 8.11]

The same Spirit? Look what was written in the Book of Acts:

And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. [Acts 10.38]

The Spirit and the "anointing" are one and the same.

We should all walk in the same power Jesus walked in if indeed we are walking in the same Spirit.

So, the question is...

Father, help me to pursue the reflection of Jesus and Jesus alone in my life - as I have the same Spirit, may my life manifest the same anointing of power and authority.
