Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. [Psalm 37.5]

What does it look like to commit everything to the LORD?

I think few really know. I certainly don't think I do.

We have all been so groomed to be religious (if that suits one's fancy), but we are cautioned to not be fanatics. Religion is good up to the point that it starts to require real change - then it starts to get uncomfortable.

Jesus was led to the Cross. Talk about uncomfortable!

When we read the Bible through worldly lenses we tend to see only what is in it for us. But when we read and understand the Bible without our personal, worldly, and cultural filters, we will see God's mission for the world as our priority too. There is a difference.

The difference mentioned above is found in our commitment of everything to the LORD, and not just what makes us comfortable.

Everything.

Father, I want to move closer to You in committing everything to You. Please be patient with me as I am not good at doing that. Help me to learn. Help me to see that Your Word - Your Son - shows me the way to commit everything to You.
