Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. [Psalm 90.14]
Now here is a prayer worth praying! It is also a standard of practice.
Three key words stand out to me today: morning, love, and joy.
The first of every day (the morning) belongs to the LORD. Until we see that, we remain self-important. There is no excuse for not giving God the first of our day.
God's love is what matters most. It is the reason the first of our day belongs to Him. It is the reason we need to be filled with God's love so the rest of our day might represent His love.
As God's love, experienced in the morning, motivates the rest of our day, there is pure joy as the result.
God set this up as a pattern. It is good and worth following!
Father, help me to be sensitive to Your ways... beginning each and every morning meditating on Your love enjoying the fruit of having done so in joy.
