Watch Your Mouth

Though I am innocent, my own mouth would pronounce me guilty. Though I am blameless, it would prove me wicked. [Job 9.20]

As we will see later in this book, Job will necessarily repent for all he said.

But here we see that Job knew his mouth would be a problem early on in his discussions about his plight. Imagine that.

The main point I see here is that it behooves all of us to pay attention to what we say. And, perhaps, we should pay attention to how much we say. There is just a lot of potential for our mouths to get us in trouble. And, that is precisely what we see in Job's story.

Father, help us to watch our mouths.
