As If We Can't Help Ourselves

“I cannot keep from speaking. I must express my anguish. My bitter soul must complain. [Job 7.11]

We will find out toward the latter part of this book that Job is compelled to repent for running his mouth too much. Imagine that.

Sometimes we say things out of compulsion. Then, we justify what we said as if compulsion was an excuse. ...As if we can't help ourselves.

Well...

Father, forgive me for all the complaining and self-pity You have heard from me.
