Let's Be Reasonable

When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”  [Mark 10.14-15]

Childlike faith.

But that's for kids right? We would like to think! Let's be reasonable!

I don't know that faith is ever 'reasonable.' Reason is supposedly one of those things we develop as we mature into adults. We know children have an underdeveloped sense of reason.

Did Jesus place a premium on underdeveloped reason? Certainly, He did.

As much as I would like to look like a mature and reasonable Christian, I am not finding much encouragement from Jesus here to do so.

What's more, Jesus attached the Kingdom to this underdeveloped sense of reason! The Kingdom!

Father, help me to let go of my reason and just trust You and all that You have said.
