When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” [Matthew 20.24-28]
Servant Leadership. I believe Jesus was the first teacher of this principle.
The authority vested in God's people is unmatched in the earth. We are talking "all authority." And yet, Jesus teaches that that authority operates from an altogether different platform than all the authority we as humans best understand.
We are authorized to lay down our lives. That's what Jesus was (authorized), and therefore did (laid down His life).
What is this 'authority' at its core? It is forgiveness.
Jesus walked in perfect authority because He walked in perfect forgiveness.
Father help us to understand the authority to which we are called...

It’s truly amazing to set and ponder on this authority we have been granted. God is amazing, Jesus is so humbling. He has given us this truly great gift.
I try to imagine what it’s like to be as forgiving as Jesus as humble as he not only was but is. We have that same ability, he was flesh and he was God in one but still the flesh was there just as we face every day. He was God but we have God in us through salvation. We have his righteousness bestowed upon us as we walk each day from our beds.
We must continually remember and not forget who we are in him. And most of all who he is! All authority from heaven is at our fingertips. We must learn to never forget. It’s a daily task we must come to submit too. As we stay in the word and in him in all we do through prayer and forgiveness and fasting to strengthen his spirit within us we will always endure for his glory. No matter the trouble or suffering or torment we think we are in he will prevail in us as we must submit to him and his will and he will be glorified.
Thank you Father for all you have given us here on earth just as it is in heaven. Bless each one of your followers to glorify you through all they do, think and say. Remember to let our leaders in this general election be led by your spirit and see nothing but THE TRUTH AS YOU HAVE SHOWED US. Amen!
Bless you brother Greg for your continued support and efforts to help lift us all up to glorify Him.
