Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. [John 12.25]
There is just no easy way to approach this statement by Jesus.
Mind you, Jesus is fully aware what is about to take place in the next days and hours.
Life is precious, right? Well, really, that's the problem. When life takes precedence over eternity, then there exists an alteration of universal order that is the polar opposite of faith.
We need Kingdom-thinking and that is exactly what Jesus was referring to here. Kingdom-thinking cares nothing for natural laws but is focused only on eternity and the quest to see mankind saved and to understand the truth.
My efforts will best be spent considering not my own well-being, but the well-being of others.
Father, help me to quit my selfishness and instead to think only of others.

I ponder on this brother and I thought no life isn’t precious because eternity is the goal, but quickly I got a check in my spirit saying think on that more.
I thought on it more. Yes life is precious but not our ultimate goal. Our goal is to give as Jesus did, and if that happens to be our life so be it. Primarily we should be seeking the kingdom and to do that we must walk like Jesus. To walk like Jesus we have to constantly be active in bringing others to Him.
If we are seeking the kingdom we will ultimately be bringing the lost to the found and teach the prideful to become humble. If we are caught in those traps or snares of the world we remember him and we will glorify Him no matter if it cost us time, friends, family, or ultimately our lives.
May God bless us all to carry out Jesus’s walk. Thank you Father for all you have sacrificed and given us. We are so loved. We love you Father.
